Blogger Love Week 2- Day 1

Welcome to Blogger Love Week 2!!

This round we have some returning bloggers and some new ones as well! We will have a different question everyday so make sure to check it out daily to see what some of your favorites have to say!! The Beginnings:

Tell us a little bit about yourself. Where are you from? What do you like to do for fun. Also what inspired you to get into the nail polish world?

Katherine-
Hi everyone! For those who don’t know me, my name is Katherine. I’m 26 years old and I’m from Long Island, NY. Besides nail polish, I like to keep myself busy when I'm not working. I love shopping, going to the movies, hanging out with friends and taking day trips with my boyfriend. I also love animals and I’m a fan of reality TV (Teen Mom, RHONJ, etc.) My 1 year blogging anniversary is July 16^th. I jumped in to this crazy little polish universe to justify my growing stash and share my simple NOTDswith everyone.

Meredith-
I am a Texan, born and raised! I like to go to the movies, make jewelry, and swimming! I decided to start my blog as a hobby.  I am currently unemployed so this is an outlet for me.

Tara-
I am from (as where I was born) Santa Rosa, CA. I lived all over the Bay Area growing up, then Los Angeles, then back up north to Marin County. I then moved to Portland, OR, Jacksonville, FL, and now live in Denver, CO! I get around.

For fun, hmm...I like to play poker (we do a monthly tournament with our friends, and we go to Vegas a lot, and also up to Central City to play) and I like watching movies, and traveling, and lazing by the pool. I am trying to lean more about sewing but then I get frustrated! :) I have been a makeup artist for about 18 years (wow, that ages me!) so I love doing makeup, hair and nails on my friends for fun! My own grownup version of Beauty Parlor. Oh, and I play roller derby!

What inspired me to blog was my friends basically telling me I should start a makeup and nails blog. I give in to peer pressure. It is mainly lacquer related, but I do throw in some makeup stuff sometime!

Marisa-
I'm originally from Guyana.  No, not Ghana and no, it's not in Africa.  It's actually right at the tip of South America, right next to Brazil.  It's a large, English speaking country, and we're usually associated with the Caribbean.  I was born there and migrated to the United States when I was 8 years old.  I've lived in New York ever since.

For fun, I love to eat!  I'm definitely a foodie, so I love trying new types of food.  I also love dance and music.  So whenever I'm not too lazy, I take jazz dance lessons.

I've always been a lover of polish, but I was inspired to join our "crazy little polish universe" by watching YouTube videos and then discovering nail polish blogs.  I figured since I was obsessed, I might as well share my love for polish as well ;0).

Amanda-
A bit about myself?  Hmm.  Well, I was born and raised in New York City and have a weakness for dogs, the color purple, and blueberries.  Basic enough.

Things I like to do for fun other than polish are pretty routine, although I do randomly pick up odd obsessions that I quickly lose interest in, including my ceramic painting ability that I "discovered" after a particularly bad break-up a few years ago.  I also discovered that while my final products were passable for a four year old, no one had any use for splatter painted mugs and mini teapots in my house.  

In fact it was that mug-inducing break-up that kickstarted my polish obsession.  I had always loved polish but really kept my stash to a bare minimum and spent more than a few dollars on each.  However, after a bad night of crying, I decided I needed a grey polish and as a break-up gift to myself, "splurged" (at the time) on China Glaze Recycle.  I start following more and more polish blogs looking for colors which led to my biting the bullet and getting the ultra-expensive (also, at the time) SpaRitual A World of Compassion for ten whole dollars.  Since then, I've grown my polish stash just a tad and added a new and better boy to this mix.  Two years later, I'm a pretty happy resident of the polish universe.

Chelsea-
I grew up in the suburbs outside of Detroit and after graduating college, I now live in western Michigan. When I’m not polishing my nails or obsessively shopping for polish, my other hobbies are reading, writing, cosmetics, fashion video games and hanging out with my friends.

I first started blogging in August of last year. I’d been reading nail blogs for a while (Scrangie was my gateway drug) and really wanted a way to share my hobby. So I posted some God-awful swatches of OPI Austin-tatious Turquoise on the internet and with that, Nailed was born!

ChiChi-
I was born and raised in Central Florida and now I live in Wisconsin. Besides painting my nails and scoping out nail blogs I like to read, watch YouTube videos and socialize on Twitter. I got inspired to join the polish universe of blogging last Fall. I had a "beauty blog" for the longest but my heart wasn't in it. Then late Summer early Fall, I discovered nail polish blogs. I thought hey, I could try this and then I started to snap random pictures of my NOTD and found it was more fun for me. I was hooked.

Iris-

 I am originally from El Salvador, but I have lived in Texas for most of my life. Do you mean there is other fun besides polish????? I like just spending time with my family hanging out with them is a lot of fun and I also love shopping :-P OH and watching movies.

Amy-

Hey everyone! My name is Amy, and I am from Louisiana! Generally, my only hobby is nail polish and all things related! =) I just woke up one day and had a bunch of nail polish and polish friends LOL... The crazy polish universe creeped up on me, and I have loved every moment of blogging, meeting people, and playing with polish.... =) It all started by stalking other nail blogs and finally getting the courage to start my own! Other fun things I like to do are watching movies, shopping, and playing with my dogs--typical girl things! =)

Brandi-
I'm from Columbia, SC. For fun, I like to knit, paint, shop at thrift store..and the obvious--paint my nails! I think it was probably my natural hoarding tendencies that inspired me to join the world of nail polish. I was never really that into painting my nails until age 21, when I started googling swatches and became obsessed with learning all of the nail blogging lingo. The next step was to justify my new hoard of nail polish by sharing it with the world!

Nory- 

I'm Norelis aka Nory ;) I was born in Puerto Rico but have lived in the states since I was seven. I currently live in the Tampa Bay Area with my hubby and two lovely doggies (Abby and Princess). I started to get into nail polish while trying to find a new hobby to keep myself busy. I had been struggling with my health and was diagnosed with PCOS, I wanted to find an escape from my real life and dove head first into this crazy/fun nail polish and makeup world. I have meet so many great women I wouldn't trade any of it for the world!

Anna-
Hi! My name is Anna and I am from the Midwest! Minnesota! Woot woot! Anywho, a few other things that I like to do for fun is scrapbooking and playing with makeup. There are so many things but those are the top two things that come to mind other than polish. You know, that is why I am here! Speaking about polish, I actually started my blog as a whatever/life blog because I just recently had my baby. I had no intentions of blogging about my nails. But somewhere along the line I just grew into loving it. Actually because I loved the way Scrangie blogged and I loved how beautiful her nails were.

Anne-
My  name is Anne Elizabeth and I'm from Southern BC Canada.  I am married to my favorite guy ever and we have 2 beautiful girlies Loralai (9) and Nalaya (8).  I started getting into this fun polish world last Summer when I was going to a wedding and wanted some inspiration for a mani.  So I googled 'nail blogs' and lo and behold, all these amazing blogs popped up and I was instantly hooked!
