The Splatter Matter............

Posted in , , ,
Hey Everyone!

Today I will sharing with all of you my very first attempt at 'splatter' manicures. I had seen a few online lately but the ones that stood out the most to me where some I have seen in Sarah's blog, Chalkboard Nails. She does some amazing work you guys should definitely check her blog out.

For my manicure what I did was, placed a plastic bag on the table picked out my colors, took straws, cut them in half. After painting my base color I took scotch tape and taped up my fingers on one hand. Then I began one color at a time, and dipped it into the bottle and then blew into the straw one time on each nail, dipping the straw into the bottle after every nail, until the first hand was done. Then I let it dry took off all the tape and put the top coat on and then started all over again with the second hand. For me it was easier to do one hand at a time but that was just my preference you can do it any way you would like. This was my first one I actually thought it was not going to work, but after finishing it I realized it was not that bad so I thought I would share it with you all! So here is what my 'splatter' looked like........

In the sun
The colors I used
My favorite one :)

It reminds me of the 80's, even though I wasn't born until '87 but still it reminds me off that type of style. I tried to pick colors that where fun yet worked well together.

So what do you guys think??? Please leave me a comment below and share your thoughts and suggestions.

Thank you for reading!

  1. I'm only a year older than you, but it also reminds me of (what little I can remember of) the '80s. Has a really fun look to it and seems perfect for a beach day in the summer.

  2. This is so cool! It makes me want to be more creative with my nails than using just one colour.
